Mixing gel nail polish with UV resin can cause a slower cure time. UV rays cause polymerization, a chemical process triggered by a molecule called a photo-initiator. Benzophenone, for example, is a simple initiator, containing an oxygen atom that clips a hydrogen atom from the gel molecule.
In particular, UV gel nails require quite a bit of filing, nail techs rarely if ever wear appropriate personal protective gear needed for resin dust (which is also pretty dangerous). UV resin and UV gel polish are the same thing with different marketing, UV nail polish is a slightly thinner formula to make it more appropriate for nail applications.

Use the lamp that is recommended for the gels you're using. If you're using a gel polish that cures at a certain wavelength and your lamp uses a lower or higher wavelength your gel will never be cured correctly. If the polish brand doesn't have a lamp - find a better brand.
