It's not constant, when it does it the whole car shakes, and the revs jumps around 800-1k. I've got an 06 Mondeo TDCI 2.0. I've recently blanked the EGR valve due to filling my rear view mirrow with plumes of smoke. Since blanking the EGR the plumes of smoke have stopped except for a small amount if I really boot it which I assume is pretty normal for a diesel.
