Oct 24, 2014. #2. That sounds like the oil cooler leaking. It has 2 gaskets on it that look like oil filter o-rings. 1 big bolt/cap that screws up into it from the bottom. Somewhat common leaky spot, will start leaking for no apparent reason. Easy to fix but very dirty job. 2014 TDI. Howard larson. Aug 31, 2022. 1. 1K. VW TDI Hint – 4 cylinder TDIs are notorious for leaking on the backside, where it is impossible to see the leak. The oil may appear to be coming from the turbo, but, in fact is coming from the valve cover gasket. On ALH engines, where the gasket is not available separately, try using some RTV sealant instead. #2 Oil Filter Flange Gasket
I recently bought a used VW Passat diesel 1.9 TDI (1997) model. It used to burn oil so I send it for general maintenance in the motor (pistons springs, valves, turbo). It seems that after the first 600 km burned about 250 ml of oil. Is this normal. I read in many forums arguing that this is normal or others to say that it should not happen. in this video is shown how to change the oil and oil filter on vw golf 5 with 1.9tdi engine.

If you know a good parts counter, you can get everything for about $185 new. The part numbers you'll need are: 028117021E OIL COOLER (should come with upper gasket) 038117061 LOWER COVER TO OIL COOLER WITH SEAL. Now, the big daddy on the right is the oil cooler from a 04 130HP PD Passat.
